Buongiorno Son,
What’s new with you today? Whatever it is I’m sure you’ll make the best of it.
How’s your health? Naturally, I hope that it’s great. There’s nothing really as important as your health, both physical and mental.
It seems that not nearly enough people speak of their mental health these days. People do talk about their emotional ups and downs, but don’t seem to tie them to their mental health.
I guess we could ask the question, what does it mean to be mentally healthy? Personally, I’m far from being an expert. I would say that words like peaceful, serene, tranquil, happy, joyous, productive, etc. could all describe good mental health. Unfortunately, there seem to be far too many people who would not describe themselves using any of the words above. Why do you think that is?
There are any number of reasons why people may not live in the best mental state. Have you ever heard of the phrase, “perpetual victim”? The perpetual victim mentality can just about guarantee any of us to be in an unempowered mental state. Why? One reason may be because the perpetual victim doesn’t ever really take any personal responsibility for their actions. They believe that the things that go wrong in their lives are always someone else’s fault. As a consequence of this, they seek things outside of themselves to be fulfilled, rather than focusing inward. You will also notice that they have a tendency to badmouth others behind their backs. This may be an attempt to elevate themselves in they eyes of others by pointing out the flaws and shortcomings of someone else. The perpetual victim will dilute the quality of their own lives as well as the lives of those around them.
Please feel free to chime in and let me know what you think. We can revisit this topic anytime you want. We can also discuss any other topic that you wish.
Well, that’s all for now!
Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Dad
