Hello Son,
How’s it going today? Hopefully, your day is off to a great start.
I have another great quote that I’d like to share with you:
“Be the change you wish to see in the world.” -Mahatma Gandhi
This is a simple, yet very powerful quote if people take action on it. For instance, if I would like people to be kinder to each other, I would look to myself first. If I want the world to be kinder, I myself must be kinder to others.
When you take action to, “be the change you wish to see”, you get real-world, first-hand experience with what it takes to be kinder. This allows you to have a greater understanding of the challenges one may face when attempting to be kinder.
One might ask, “What possible challenges could you have when working to be kinder?”. We must remember that being kinder to people can have negative, neutral, or positive results. Some people will be suspicious of your friendliness and let you know they don’t want to be bothered. Some will glance at you quickly and keep walking. Some people will smile back at you and may even greet you with a, “Good morning”, or something similar.
In many cases we simply cannot predict how our kindness will be received. We just need to be kinder because it’s the right thing to do, rather than focus on the less-than-positive responses we might get.
Being kinder is just one of many ways that any of us could, “Be the change we wish to see in the world.”
Well, that’s all for now!
Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Dad
