Buongiorno Son,

How are things there today? If you happen to be wondering how things are here, they are great!

I have another quote that I wanted to share with you:

“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” – Maya Angelou

How do you feel about that quote? Personally, I find that it rings true.

So, now that we have that quote, what can we do to put it into action? Well, for one, we can all be more mindful of the impact of both our words and actions. The impact of our words and actions has consequences. What would happen if we focused on lifting people up rather than putting people down?

Those who continually put others down may often lack the confidence and self-esteem required to treat others with kindness and respect. Essentially, these types of people, knowingly or not, seek to elevate themselves by lowering others.

I will openly admit that being kind and treating others with respect is sometimes no small feat. We are all human, and as such, we have feelings too. If someone is unkind or disrespectful to us, it can be easy to become defensive and, in some cases, seek to retaliate. In cases like this, we were hurt and wish to hurt the offending person or persons as well.

As men, we have to think on a grander scale. We must imagine the consequences if everyone was insensitive and disrespectful. Sadly, we have seen way too much of that these days. That is not the world I want to live in!

We must be stronger and set a shining example that is a reflection of the world we want to live in. We must be as Gandhi stated in his quote:

“Be the change you want to see in the world” – Mahatma Gandhi
