Let’s pick up where we left off in our last topic.
I was telling you about my experiences dealing with a group of freelancers. It was interesting that all but one of the entries from freelancers was totally negative. As I started to dig a bit deeper, I felt compelled to do some research to attempt to see if there was any truth to their claims.
After combing through the work that was done by the freelancers who were complaining on the freelancer forum, I did not find any evidence that their complaints were legitimate. I looked even harder at the instructions I created so that workers had clear details of the work to be done and how it was to be done.
Typically, in situations like these, the common course of action is to look for reasons against those who attack you. It was important for me to first see if there were flaws in my instructions that could cause someone to produce inadequate results.
After careful research, it was found that there were a good number of freelancers that completed the tasks according to the instructions. In fact, some of the freelancers had completed the work so beautifully that I was thrilled with the results.
So we could now ask the question, “Why did some freelancers complete the tasks perfectly while others did not?” The answer to that question was, “some freelancers did not follow the instructions.”
So, if some freelancers didn’t follow the instructions and complete the work required, why would they expect to be paid?
We will continue to explore this at a later time.
