Great Morning Son,
Here we are on yet another amazing Monday! I hope that you are looking forward to an amazing week ahead!
We were recently discussing the topic of forgiveness, a very important topic for sure. I think that we can both agree that forgiving someone who has wronged you is sometimes not a simple thing.
When we don’t forgive those who have wronged us we hang on to bitterness and resentment. It has been said that, “not forgiving and hanging on to bitterness and resentment is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.” That sounds ridiculous doesn’t it?
When we harbor bitterness and resentment, the offending party is typically not affected by our bitterness and resentment. The person your negative feelings have the greatest effect on is you, and that’s not a good thing!
When it comes to forgiving others we should think of the people we have wronged who have had the courage and discipline to forgive us. After all, we all make mistakes right?
Of course, forgiveness is very important. I would also say that being very selective about those we associate with is very important as well. It stands to reason that the more selective we are the fewer people we will have to forgive, the less selective we are the more people we will have to forgive.
Well, that’s all for now!
Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Dad
