Good Morning Son,
Not too much going on here today. I just wanted to send you a note to say hello and to tell you how much I miss you.
Some people might think that it’s strange that a father would continue to work to build an excellent relationship with a son that does not contact him. That is currently our situation, but I don’t think it is strange at all. You see, you are my son and I love you very much. The way I see it, love is about giving and not about getting.
If someone were to ask me how you can love someone that does not seem to reciprocate, I would ask them one simple question, “Do you want love, or barter?”.
If you stop and think about it, it’s easy to love someone who loves you back. I love you unconditionally. What does that mean? That means that regardless of your thoughts, beliefs, or actions that I will be your father and love you forever.
