Happy Marvelous Monday Son,
Here we are once again at the start of another amazing week ahead!
Have you seen any good movies lately? I saw one that I really liked called, “Man of God”. It was about St. Nektarios of Aegina of Greece. It wasn’t the easiest movie to watch as St. Nektarios was slandered, exiled unjustly, and convicted without a trial!
From what I could see in the movie, which is based on a true story, St. Nektarios lived up to the title of the movie, “Man of God”. He was a true priest of the common people and was as popular as he was helpful, humble, and caring. This didn’t make other members of the clergy very happy, so they became jealous and sought to defame and denounce him. Quite naturally, if those clergy members were anything close to moral, there would not have been an issue.
Unfortunately, this same narrative plays out far too often in today’s world. Some people will “bear false witness” against others for any number of immoral reasons. Some of those reasons are jealousy, attempts to twist the truth, attempts to minimize someone else to make themselves appear greater, to tear someone down, etc. In fact, one of the Ten Commandments states, “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor”.
One important thing we must all remember in life is that we cannot elevate ourselves by standing on the necks of others. Only cowards live like that.
Well, that’s all for now!
Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Dad
