What’s happening with you on this fine day? Things are groovy here after another wonderful weekend.
We had been chatting about the following, “What would you do if you found out that someone close to you had been lying to you your whole life?” Let’s dive into that a bit deeper.
When it comes down to what to do, we have a number of choices. We can be cautious about believing what the liar says in the future. That’s not just an option; it’s a smart choice. After all, if a person is unwilling to tell us the truth, we must protect ourselves from any potential harm that may come from that person’s lies.
If the person lying to you is someone you love, forgiving them is something that you must do. I know that is not easy, in fact it can and will be very difficult, especially if they don’t take responsibility for their actions.
You may ask me, “Dad have you ever lied?” My answer to you would be absolutely. Yes, I have lied in the past and just like everyone else who lies, I was a coward. If I had been courageous and considered the impact my untrue words would have on others, I would have told the truth. Fortunately, at some point I decided that I wanted to be courageous and tell the truth. After that, I found out that the famous saying is right, the truth actually does set you free!
