Happy Monday to you! Did you do anything fun and interesting over the weekend?
I had something interesting happened recently. In my dealings with another person I made a mistake. As soon as I realized that I’d made the mistake I started thinking of the best way to handle the situation. Since the mistake was mine and mine alone, it was up to me to apologize to the other person and own up to the mistake.
I took my time and humbly apologized to the other party. At the time I sent the apology to the other party, I felt good about what I had done, because I had been completely honest with him. What happened next, was a bit of a shock to me.
The other person was quite naturally disappointed by my mistake, even with the apology. Unfortunately, the other party attempted to use my admission of the mistake as leverage to take advantage of me. At first I was disturbed by this and decided that I would give the entire matter some thought before I made my next move.
I’ll fill you in on the next move I made in this situation when I write to you next week.
