My Letters To My Son

Bonjour Son

September 4, 2017 By Dad Leave a Comment

Bonjour Son,

Well, here we are at the start of yet another amazing week! My weekend was wonderful and I hope that yours was too.

Did you happen to see the eclipse? It was a pretty big deal here where I live and throughout a number of places in the US. I heard that people came from all over the world just to observe the eclipse. It was so popular that hotels were booked to capacity and there were not even any rental cars available.

I was able to observe the eclipse using a pair of special glasses. It was pretty interesting really. I was inside of a store when it started. When I looked outside, I saw the sky had grown dark, pretty much just like it would before a thunderstorm. That didn’t seem all that special to me at the time. Then the sky continued to grow darker and darker, so much so that the street lights came on.

I can certainly understand  why so many people came out to observe this total solar eclipse, because it is a once-in-a-lifetime event. I read that the last time that there was a total solar eclipse in my area was in 1442!

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
