My Letters To My Son

Buenos Días Son

April 8, 2019 By Dad Leave a Comment

Buenos Días Son,

How’s it going there today? It was another great weekend here and I hope that it was there for you as well.

Continuing our discussion from last week, let’s chat about doing the right thing. In fact, let’s chat about dishonesty and in particular the dishonest act of lying.

Lying is one of those dishonest actions of particular interest, because at some point in time in their lives everyone has done it. What’s interesting is that we all want everyone else to tell us the truth. I guess we have to wonder what sense it makes to lie if we expect everyone else to tell us the truth. In fact people who lie on a regular basis seem to get incredibly angry when they are lied to! Go figure! I have to laugh when I think about it because it’s one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever witnessed.

By lying and expecting everyone else to be truthful, a liar is basically saying, “I expect from you that which I am unwilling to give”. Not only is that stupid, is just plain unfair.

To make a long story short, obviously telling the truth is the right thing to do. Dishonest people will always be part of the problems of the world and honest people will always be part of the solutions.

I believe that being an honest person and doing the right thing will give anyone more joy, peace, calm, serenity, tranquility, love, and other good things.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
