How Are You Today Son,
In general, how are things going with you today? Naturally, as your dad, I hope all is well and that you’re living a life that is so fulfilling that you can hardly believe it!
That brings me to something important that I thought we would chat about. That important thing is your career. What is your career currently? Why did you choose it? Do you love the work you’re doing or hate the work you’re doing or something in between?
I bring this vitally important topic up because in general, we all spend a great deal of time working. Working a 40-hour workweek means we spend 2,080 hours working every year. If we take a little closer look at that and factor in eight hours of sleep per night, we spend roughly 50% of our time awake at work.
Now, it’s pretty easy to see why many people choose a career based on the monetary benefits. Believe me, I enjoy the freedom and flexibility and ability to be of service to others that money brings as much as the next guy. With that said, in the past, like many of us, I have chosen careers based upon my desire to generate a comfortable income.
Along with the careers I have chosen based strictly on money, I have also chosen careers based upon my passions. Naturally, it’s the best of both worlds to have a career that provides you with more money than you need as well as one that you are passionate about.
