Happy Monday to you! Once again, I hope that you had a great weekend and that you are looking forward to another great week.
The weather here was very pleasant this weekend. That was good because we needed a break from all the rain that we had been getting. It rained very hard for days here. It rained so hard, for so long, that there was widespread flooding in the state. The flooding has been so bad that President Obama has declared a state of emergency here.
When I was on my way to go hiking yesterday, I didn’t see the farmer’s fields like I normally do. Instead of fields I saw lakes where I would typically see dry ground. It was quite a sight. The water is so high in some areas that you can only see the roofs of homes and businesses.
I spoke with a neighbor and he was telling me that meteorologists has estimated that if we had snowfall rather than rain we would have had over 100 inches of snow!
