Good Morning Son,
How’s it going there this morning? Things are great here and I certainly hope that they are there as well!
I ran across another really cool quote that I’d like to share with you:
“Everyone must choose one of two pains: The pain of discipline or the pain of regret” – Jim Rohn
This particular quote really resonates with me, as I am not, nor have I ever been the most disciplined person in the world.
What you think of when you read that quote? The first thing that comes to my mind is health and fitness. I think about the discipline of healthy, nutritious food choices and regular exercise.
We’ve discussed regular exercise and healthy eating in the past. Doing these two important things for your body consistently can be a challenge, even for the most disciplined of us. Contrary to popular belief, I don’t jump out of bed in the morning and shout, “I can’t wait to do my workout this morning!”. Some mornings are more challenging than others and that’s where discipline comes in. Believe me, my workouts are challenging enough, but they are more challenging if I don’t feel so great when I wake up. Thankfully, those mornings when I don’t feel so great when I wake up are few and far between.
I could certainly use more discipline when it comes to eating, because I really, really love food! Sometimes we have to tell our bodies yes by telling our taste buds no. That definitely takes discipline.
Let’s pick this conversation up at a later date. I’m interested to hear what you think about the importance of discipline.
Well, that’s all for now!
Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Dad
