My Letters To My Son

Howdy Son

May 17, 2021 By Dad

Howdy Son,

How’s it going there today? I hope that all is well and, as usual, I hope that you are anticipating a wonderful week ahead!

Is it just me or does this year seem to be flying by very fast? It sure seems that way to me for some reason. Not sure why. Whether the year goes by fast or slow, it’s up to each of us to take advantage of whatever time there is an make the absolute most of it.

This week, I’m grateful to be over my food poisoning incident and all the symptoms that food poisoning brings. It is amazing how easy it is to take each day for granted? Then, something unpleasant happens and you find yourself wishing for just a regular, normal day again.

I’ve always found it interesting that, “bad” days make regular days look like, “good” days. It’s all a matter of perspective, isn’t it? If you ask anyone if they’d rather spend their entire day being unsettled and nauseous or just having a regular and not necessarily exciting day, most people would choose a regular and not necessarily exciting day, right?

Those who tout the benefits of adopting an, “attitude of gratitude”, are definitely on to something. An attitude of gratitude has us focusing on what we do have rather than what we do not have. If we focus on what we do not have, we will feel deprived or even in some cases possibly even personally inadequate. If we focus on what we do have and are blessed with, we will adopt a more positive, empowering outlook.

A positive empowering outlook is a key that can unlock unlimited peace, joy, and fulfillment.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
