My Letters To My Son

Happy Monday Son

November 29, 2021 By Dad

Happy Monday Son,

The weekend here was great, and I hope that yours was too!

My sweetheart and I actually dined-in at a local restaurant! That has been a rare occurrence for us since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

What I found most interesting was that there were plenty of people walking around without masks. Interestingly enough, I am seeing this more and more. I’ve heard many reasons why some people don’t wear masks. The reasons range from making a political statement in an effort to feel free and patriotic to difficulty breathing with a mask on.

For me personally, I would rather err on the side of caution and wear a mask as it appears that vaccination alone is currently not the answer. Truthfully, I don’t think many of the mask-defiant fully comprehend the severity of full-blown covid. Some seem to feel that the vaccination will completely protect them… not true. Some believe that they have natural immunity… which may be true for some people, but I don’t know or haven’t heard of anyone with natural immunity.

What’s really interesting about the groups complaining about their freedoms, is that they seem to blindly follow politicized dictatorial rumors rather than science. I mean, how free are you if you insist on following a false narrative. Like many who buy into nonsense, these people are slaves to their ignorance, and we’ve all been down that road. Can you really be free if you are a slave to false beliefs?

The truth is that the only reason some non-maskers, as they’re called, don’t get Covid-19 is that they haven’t been exposed to someone in the highly-contagious phase of the disease. If they come into contact with that type of person, the likelihood that they will contract Covid-19 is high. It’s sort of like someone saying that they have never fallen from the top of a building when they’ve never been to the top of a building.

We shouldn’t rely on politicized health information to take away my common sense.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
