My Letters To My Son

Bonjour Son

April 6, 2026 By Dad

Bonjour Son,

Well, here we are at the start of another amazing week!

I hope that your weekend was great and that you’re ready for the week ahead.

As you may have already guessed, I’m still in the process of spring cleaning. I am donating a lot of things that I think others could use. It’s always good to donate to worthy causes because what might be of no use to you might be of great use to someone else.

Along with donation, there are some things that I’m simply throwing away. There really is no need to contemplate what might be done with something every time I walk past it. This would require that I make that same decision over and over again, which doesn’t exactly speak to efficiency and can lead to decision fatigue. In the long run, it’s easier to donate it if it is worthy of donation and just throw it away if it isn’t.

I’m not just doing spring cleaning physically, I’m also doing it mentally. I’ve worked to eliminate any pointless scrolling through social media listening to people who, in reality, don’t even really know what they’re talking about. It’s easy for anybody to get on a platform and say something. It is more challenging to get on a platform and actually deliver something that adds value to people’s lives. This is essentially the what can I give attitude rather than a what can I get attitude.

I find that “Spring cleaning”, which is the phrase I use, helps both mentally and physically. On the physical side, getting your living and workspace more organized is always a good thing. On the mental side, clearing your head of thoughts that won’t serve you in the long term, saves both time and effort.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
