My Letters To My Son

Buongiorno Son

December 18, 2023 By Dad

Buongiorno Son,

I hope that you are having nothing less than an absolutely amazing day! Here we are once again at the start of an incredible week ahead.

This morning I just wanted to send you a quick note to say hello and to let you know that I love you and was thinking about you. I think about you frequently and look forward to spending time with you in the future.

I’m sitting in the office drinking a cup of green tea and looking forward to getting more things done today. You know, I love getting things done. I understand that people speak a lot about wanting to live out the rest of their days just chilling on the beach sipping on umbrella drinks. Personally, that has never been my objective.

With the statement that I made above some might assume that I don’t like the beach at all. That’s absolutely not true. I enjoy the beach and I enjoy vacations and time off, but my objective is not to live my life on vacation. I would think a more reasonable objective would be to have the time and financial flexibility to be able to go on vacation whatever you want. Deep down inside I think flexibility is what we all want. We’d like to do what we want to do when we want to do it.

My sweetheart tells me again and again that is seems like I really enjoy my work day. She understands very well that I actually do enjoy my work day. Why is that? How in the world could anyone enjoy their work day? Well, enjoying your work day can involve many factors. For me, I’m doing what I love. It has been said if you do what you love then you’ll never work a day in your life. That statement rings very true to me.

I hope that whatever you are doing career-wise is deeply satisfying to you. If for some reason it is not, then I certainly hope that you will find a career that does satisfy you.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
