Good Morning Son,
Well, another great weekend is behind us and another great week is ahead of us!
I rediscovered another cool quote that I want to share with you:
“I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions.” – Stephen R. Covey
I say I rediscovered that quote because I have seen it several times before.
Some would say that we are a product of our circumstances. Does that mean that if we weren’t born with a silver spoon in our mouths that we should just give up on life and accept where we are? I think not.
The Stephen Covey quote is about how we should think. Does that mean that our circumstances have nothing to do with shaping our lives? No, it doesn’t mean that. If we stop and think about it, many of our circumstances are the result of our decisions. Strings of bad decisions can easily create strings of bad circumstances, just as strings of good decisions can easily create strings of good circumstances.
What about other people in our lives, can they create good or bad circumstances? We already know that the answer to that question is a resounding yes. Let’s keep in mind though, that the majority of the people we have in our lives will be people we choose to have in our lives. We could say that many people would have their parents in their lives. Some people have made the decision to not have one or both parents not in their lives. That is the result of decisions they have made.
We have all heard people that we know complain about how their lives would be better if this person or that person wasn’t messing up their lives. The truth is, it is us who choose to have certain people in our lives. The people who are in our lives that seem to mess up our lives are the result, once again, of our decisions.
Well, that’s all for now!
Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Dad
