My Letters To My Son

Great Morning Son

August 31, 2026 By Dad

Great Morning Son,

I hope that all is well in your world. Fortunately, things are groovy here as well.

I remember us having a discussion about hobbies at some point. When I was younger, one of my favorite hobbies was photography. I even remember saving up to buy a camera.

Before I even purchased my first camera, I would imagine how objects would appear as I looked through the camera lens.

Once I finally purchased my camera I started taking photos immediately. Initially, I took photos just because I could. Later, I decided, after advice from an associate, to photograph the exception rather than the rule. After that, my photos were vastly improved.

My photography days were back when only film cameras were available. Initially, I had my film developed commercially. Later, I built my own darkroom and developed and printed my photos myself. There were a lot of steps involved, but it was supremely satisfying to see the image that you’d hoped for come to life.

I know that I had asked you about your hobbies before. What are your hobbies?

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
