How Are You Today Son,
How fortunate we are that another great week ahead awaits us?
I found another quote that I want to share with you. This one is a bit different as the layers of its meaning may not be so apparent to some.
“Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without.” – Confucius
What does that quote mean to you? If we stop and think about it in a straightforward way, we can ask ourselves a simple question: Which would you rather have? Personally, I would rather have a diamond with a flaw. Why? Simple, because even the most flawed diamond is worth more than the most perfect pebble.
We can also look at the quote in another way. Would you rather dare great and mighty things, making mistakes along the way or settle for doing only those things which you feel you can do perfectly?
When we stay within our comfort zone and don’t dare to venture out, we are like a pebble without flaw. When we move outside our comfort zone, who we become, much like a diamond, may be formed under pressure, sometimes tremendous pressure.
The pressure may be in the form of frustration, inconvenience, sacrifice, ridicule, hard work, disappointment, etc. The good news is, that in my limited experience, making progress to become a better version of yourself is worth the pressure.
Like some diamonds, even the most extraordinary people have flaws. You have within you to be a diamond. Remember, you don’t have to be perfect to be amazing!
Well, that’s all for now!
Have a blessed, beautiful, and amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Dad
