My Letters To My Son

Howdy Son

July 17, 2023 By Dad

Howdy Son,

I’m sitting here this morning sipping on some green tea on what I thought was going to be a dreary and rainy day. I see the sun starting to peek out from behind the clouds, so it may end up being at least partially sunny after all. Whether it is sunny, cloudy, or just plain rainy, I already know in advance that it’s going to be a great day! The most important weather, of course, is the weather inside you, not outside of you.

So, what’s new in your world? I hope that whatever it is that it brings you happiness. I ask what’s new because, for me, it’s always important to have something to look forward to. After all, don’t we all like that exhilarating feeling of waking up to a brand-new day filled with limitless possibilities?

Something my sweetheart said yesterday made me think of you. We were having a conversation and she, out of the blue, asked me if I’d had coffee today. At first that struck me as a bit strange until I thought about it a bit. Apparently I was talking at a mile a minute and seemed hyper to her. I remember some time ago when you would comment on my coffee consumption. You would say something similar to, “Oh no, Dad, you didn’t have coffee did you?” I laughed when I remembered you saying that and thought to myself, “Wow! Coffee really does have a tangible effect on me!”

Whatever you do today, make today great!

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
