My Letters To My Son

Howdy Son

June 9, 2025 By Dad

Howdy Son,

How goes it on this fine day? I hope that all is well and that you’re having a great day and anticipating a wonderful week ahead!

How is my day going? Well, I’m still in the process of spring cleaning, or should I say, since it’s a year-round process, or should be, just plain cleaning. I had a lot of plans for different projects that kept requiring more and more time. I decided that some projects simply are not high priority and decided to focus on certain projects to make sure to complete them.

Some projects were the type where I felt like I could fix a piece of equipment and put it to good use. On the surface that sounds like it could be a good idea and a real big money saver as well. Beneath the surface there are other things to consider such as the value of your time, the cost of parts, and the necessary knowledge to complete the repairs. Realistically, even the knowledge to complete repairs on some items requires a huge learning curve. A huge learning curve will typically take a huge amount of time. Now that I’m freeing myself of those types of projects, there’s a lot of things getting donated to worthy causes and there also a lot of things going straight into the trash bin.

I suppose there are many things in life that are like spring cleaning or like weeding your garden. One example of this would be clearing your mind of negative thoughts. The negative thoughts are like weeds in the beautiful garden of your mind. If you allow the negative thoughts to flourish they will choke out and overrun positive, empowering thoughts that you have.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
