Happy Monday Son,
How are you feeling on this fine day? I hope that you are feeling well and looking forward to another great day!
Have you ever had anyone let you down? You know, someone told you that they were going to do something, and then they didn’t do it. I’m pretty sure that you and I and every other human that walks the face of the Earth has been let down.
Perhaps a more important question I would ask myself is, “Have I ever let anyone down?”. The answer is, of course, yes! I would love to be able to tell everyone that I have never let anyone down, but that simply would not be true.
When we admit or own up to our own faults, such as letting someone down, it puts the fact that someone has let us down in perspective. After all, people we have let down have no doubt been just as disappointed as we were when we were let down.
So what do we do about people who let us down? The first step is to stop letting other people down. One effective way to do that is to not say yes to every single thing. For instance, if you do not want to go to a certain place with friends do you know what to tell them? No. That’s it. No is actually a complete answer.
When you say no, make sure you stand your ground as there are those who will try to persuade you to say yes. If you know that you really don’t want to do a certain thing, don’t always agree to it to please everyone else. After all, what good does it do any of us if we agree to something and regret agreeing to it later?
After we stop letting others down, our next step is to simply not rely on those who are unreliable. An unreliable person is easy to identify because they produce far more excuses than results.
Well, that’s all for now!
Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Dad
