My Letters To My Son

Dad

Happy Monday Son

July 18, 2022 By Dad

Happy Monday Son,

I hope that your day is going well and that you’re ready for a great week ahead!

Hopefully you did something special this past weekend to give you a sense of peace, enjoyment, and/or accomplishment.

I’m sitting here this morning with a cup of decaf coffee. I like something to sip on in the morning, but caffeinated coffee and my already high energy level sometimes don’t seem to be a great combination. I remember when you were younger, if I told you I just had coffee in the morning, you would say something similar to, “Oh no, Dad, not coffee!”. That signaled the fact that the caffeine was having a much greater effect on me than I noticed, but you certainly noticed!

Getting back to this past weekend, my Sweetie and I went on a wonderful bike ride this past weekend. It was a gorgeous day with a moderate temperature and relatively low humidity, especially for this time of year in our location.

One of the things I like most about being out walking, running, or writing on the trail are the people that you meet along the way. Typically, I will say hello to basically everyone who is traveling in the opposite direction. It’s nothing complicated, as a simple “good morning!” brings such a bright smile to so many faces. You never know when something as simple as saying hello might make someone’s day. Also, you also never know when making someone else’s day might make your day!

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
