My Letters To My Son

Dad

Bonjour Son

April 11, 2022 By Dad

Bonjour Son,

Well, once again, it’s going to be an amazing week!

I wanted us to reflect on a previous quote:

“Blowing out someone else’s candle won’t make yours shine brighter…” – Anonymous

Also, I wanted to reflect on an excerpt from a previous letter:
“Just as, “Blowing out someone else’s candle won’t make yours shine brighter, lighting someone else’s candle won’t make yours shine any less”.

Have you ever used one candle to light another candle? What did you notice? You did not notice the first candle burning any less bright, right? You saw that after sharing the flame of one candle with another candle, that you had two flames from two candles.

So, if you are asking where we are going with all this, let’s consider this. When one candle is used to light another candle, the room becomes twice as bright! The more candles you light with your candle, the brighter the room becomes!

Imagine for a moment, if you will, if we all sought to light someone else’s candle. What I mean by lighting someone else’s candle is saying something and/or doing something to brighten their day; to lift them up. Now imagine if everyone who’s day you brighten, brightens another person’s day. Let’s stop and think about that for a moment.

If we all seek to light someone else’s candle with our own, the world will be a better, brighter, love-filled place.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
