My Letters To My Son

Dad

Buenos Días Son

November 1, 2021 By Dad

Buenos Días Son,

How was your weekend? I hope that you had a wonderful weekend and, once again, that you were looking forward to a wonderful week ahead!

I had a great weekend, but I am blessed and fortunate to frequently have great weekends. The cool thing is that the weekend doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect to be great. An example of this is this past weekend, actually. My sweetheart and I decided to order pizza. We thought this would be perfect as we were going to chill out for a bit and watch a new TV series.

So, we ordered the pizza, and it was delivered to our doorstep. We then brought the pizza inside and prepared to enjoy it. Well, as it turns out, after we opened the pizza box, our hopes of having a delicious pizza were dashed. We had ordered extra sauce for the pizza, but there was no extra sauce, in fact, there was not the regular amount of sauce. And don’t get me started on the amount of cheese, the amount of cheese was abysmal. It was a thin layer that could have been sprayed on. Let’s move on now to how the pizza was cut. It was obviously a rush job that looked like it was cut by one of those homicidal maniacs in a horror movie.

So, all in all, what we basically received after spending almost $50 were two pizzas that looked like they were assembled by someone who had their eyes closed in one hand tied behind their back. Basically, rather than having two wonderful pizzas, we had 2 extra large helpings of baked pizza dough.

Even though the pizza was an absolute bummer, we still had a great time. Is the saying goes, “one monkey don’t stop no show” (that’s the street version). So, in our case, the, “monkey” was the pizzas that looked like they barely survived a nuclear Holocaust.

If we stop and think about it, in the grand scheme of things, being delivered 2 lousy pizzas assembled and cooked by lazy or incompetent people, or a combination of the two, really wasn’t a big deal. After all, if your biggest problem is having a lousy meal, then most likely you are living a much better life than you think.
Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
