My Letters To My Son

Dad

Great Morning Son

Great Morning Son,

I hope that you had a wonderful weekend! Mine was great too!

I was sitting here thinking about how “being right”. Being right seems to be so important to people. Certainly, being right gives a person more of a feeling of significance than being wrong.

What does it mean to be right, exactly? It simply means that you have the answer to a particular question or challenge at that particular time. That sounds logical right?

There is nothing wrong with being right. In fact, it feels good to be right and come up with a solution to a challenge that helps us or someone else. Problems arise, however, when we think we are always right. If we stop and think about it, even the smartest people in the world are not always right.

Why is it then that some people insist that they are right, when clearly they are wrong? I’m not exactly sure why that is, but it may have more to do with self-esteem than intelligence.

What do you think about the importance of being right? Let’s pick up on this topic a bit later.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
