Bonjour Son,
Welcome to the start of yet another amazing week! Are you ready?
Getting unstuck. Have you ever felt stuck? I mean, stuck somewhere in between point A and point B? In this scenario, point A is where you started and point B is your goal.
I think that at some point in time in life, everyone has felt stuck, or even worse than that, the feeling of being trapped.
I have been in this situation in life more times than I care to remember. Sometimes, though, being stuck can leave you feeling defeated. Feeling defeated is definitely no fun because you simply don’t feel as if you are in control of the situation.
So what exactly do we do when we feel stuck? Sometimes, when I was working on an extremely involves technical challenge, I would go and do something different and then come back and revisit my challenge. I’m not really sure why this has worked so frequently, but perhaps, when you take a break and do nothing or go and do something different, you transform your stuck mindset into a more creative one. I do remember times when I was working on a difficult math problem, decided to stop for the day and go to sleep, and woke up in the morning with some pretty creative solutions.
I suppose we have to remember that there is always another path to take to complete our journey. For instance, if you’re walking on a path in the woods and a tree has fallen across the path, you could perhaps simply climb over the tree and continue on your way. If something is blocking the path that is too tall to go over, then perhaps you can simply walk to the left or right and go around it. If it is too tall and too wide, then perhaps you can dig under it and still arrive at your destination.
What if you try methods to go around what is blocking your way and there doesn’t seem to be another way around them? You can always go back to the beginning and take a completely different path. Many people won’t do this because they would not like the feeling of “moving backwards”. Sometimes being stuck is the result of being mentally stuck on a path that happens to be the “path of least resistance”, rather than the right path. We have to remember that just because we are traveling on a certain path, that doesn’t mean that is the path that we should be traveling on.
Well, that’s all for now!
Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Dad
