Things are great here. We just enjoyed a wonderful weekend, and we are definitely enjoying the start of another great week ahead.
I had a dentist’s appointment last week. I was looking forward to it rather than dreading it. I looked forward to it as it was my regularly scheduled checkup, and I always look forward to a thorough cleaning. On the flip side of that, I’ve had times when I didn’t look forward to going to the dentist, such as the time I was going in for a root canal!
People have varying opinions about going to the doctor. Some just don’t like it, and some may like it a bit too much. I have been told that I like going to the doctor. Well, I like going in and having the doctor tell me that everything looks great. I go because I believe that my health is important. I also believe that you cannot manage what you do not measure.
Regular checkups help me to better manage my health outcomes. If there are any issues found, I think we can all agree that it’s best to catch issues as early as possible. For instance, if my doctor tell me that my blood pressure is a bit on the high side, I take note and can then plan a course of action to lower my blood pressure.
Here’s something important that a great many people may not consider. Your health is not just about you. Your health is about you and the people you care about. In short, if we don’t take care of ourselves, then someone we care about will have to take care of us.
