My Letters To My Son

Letters

Buenos Días Son

June 12, 2023 By Dad

Buenos Días Son,

I hope that all is well in your world and that you’re having an amazing day!

I also hope that you had a wonderful weekend. I don’t know what you do on the weekend, but I hope that it gives you an opportunity to regroup, reflect, rest both your mind and your body, and get you ready for another exciting week ahead.

I heard about the wildfires up there. I’m not sure if they’re affecting you at all, but I know that you are smart enough to get out of harm’s way and also to help those that you care about get out of harm’s way. The last thing I read from a news report stated that there were over 400 fires burning. I hope that the firefighters get things under control quickly and also hope that there is a break in the very dry weather pattern.

As you may have guessed, I’m still in spring-cleaning mode. There’s a ton of stuff to be done around the house and I’ve sacrificed doing the physical things inside and outside of the house to do more mental and digital spring cleaning.

The digital spring cleaning involves getting More organized using my computers. There are typically tons of things to do such as file and folder organization, project management, etc. Just like in the physical world, in the digital world, in your computer, it’s important to put things where you can find them. After all, it doesn’t really make much sense to haphazardly save files without creating a method to access them in the future.

Mental and emotional spring cleaning is essential for everyone. Just as with physical spring cleaning, it’s best not to bring things in that you may have to throw out later. These days, just watching or listening to the news can bum anyone out. We simply have to keep in mind that it’s not the purpose of the news to lift us up. If you stop and think about it, when is the last time you watched an entire news program and felt motivated and inspired?

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
