Buenos Días Son,
I just wanted to start this letter by saying that, “I love you”. I also want to say that I miss you very much, and I hope that you are living a wonderful life.
Maybe you wonder how I can say those things when we haven’t spoken in years. You may also wonder how I can express those heartfelt emotions when it is likely that you harbor bitterness and resentment against me.
If, in fact you harbor bitterness, resentment, hatred, or indifference has not and will not keep me from loving you. Why? Simple: because you are my son, and you will forever be a part of me and I will forever be a part of you.
I also understand that any of the negative emotions that you may feel are not your fault. After all, what else are you supposed to feel if you truly believe that I have abandoned you and that I don’t care about you? Any negative feelings you may have are legitimate based upon the one-sided and inaccurate information you have received about me.
Well, that’s all for now!
Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Dad
