How are you today on this very fine day? I hope that all is well and that you’re looking forward to another amazing week!
I have another quote that I wanted to share with you that I felt was very appropriate in just about every aspect of life:
“Don’t worry about failures, worry about the chances you miss when you don’t even try.” — Jack Canfield
That quote speaks as a number of quotes do to the fear failure that everyone has whether they want to admit it or realize it or not. Very few people wake up in the morning and look forward to doing something and failing at it.
If we think about it, getting it wrong is not nearly as much fun as the super-positive people might have us believe. Interestingly enough, however, it seems logical that the faster that you fail, the quicker the feedback loop. Let me explain what I mean by that. Let’s say you start a task today. Let’s also say that things didn’t go as planned and that you considered the task to be incomplete and a failure. We could look at it and say that the bad news is that we failed to complete the task as planned. We could also flip things around and say that now we know at least one way that doesn’t work, and we can eliminate that from our pool of possible approaches to the task.
If we can get ourselves to wrap our minds around the concept that our fear of missed opportunities should always be greater than our fear of failure, we can move ahead and achieve whatever we want.
Well, that’s all for now!
Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Dad
