My Letters To My Son

Letters

Hello Son

June 22, 2020 By Dad Leave a Comment

Hello Son,

How are things there today? Did you have a great weekend?

I had another cool quote that I wanted to share with you. Here it is”

“The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary”

I can easily see that some people could view the quote as oversimplified and trivial. If we stop and think about it, many statements that are true could be viewed the same way.

Putting in the necessary work is essential to succeed at anything. Let’s look at an example. If a farmer does a poor job of planting seeds what kind of harvest can he expect? A poor harvest, right? If that same farmer does an exceptional job of planting seeds he can expect an exceptional harvest.

Now, are the times when the farmer will do an exceptional job of planting seeds and reap a poor harvest? Of course, there are because from time to time, even our best efforts are thwarted by things which are beyond our control. In the farmer’s case, a crop-destroying hurricane would be an example of something that was out of his control.

Let’s continue this conversation next week.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
