As you know, from time to time I will share some of my favorite quotes with you. You’ll find that most of them are motivational, inspirational in some form or fashion. Here’s one that I think you’ll find interesting:
“I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions.” – Stephen Covey
How often have you heard people say things like, “my life would be better if only I were from a wealthy family”, or “my life would be better if only I were born smarter”, or some similar statement.
If we believe that we are a product of our circumstances, then we are not acknowledging our personal responsibility for the direction that our life takes. By doing this, we are essentially giving up on our ability to change the direction of our lives by blaming the life that we lead on external rather than internal forces.
Remember, son, that your decisions determine your direction.
