How are things going today? I hope that all is well with you today and that you’re on your way to having yet another amazing week!
Things are good here! The weather has been hotter than normal, but not hot enough to make it unbearable. I hear a lot about climate change all over the world, but personally I don’t know much about it. What I do know is that climate change can have a tremendous impact on the lives of people. All we have to do is take a look at the recent hurricanes in Texas, Florida, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and other places.
There has been a large-scale debate over whether we as human beings contribute to climate change. I’m not knowledgeable enough on the subject to have much of an opinion one way or the other. I do understand, however, that climate change can have a tremendous impact on the quality of life. For instance, floods caused by recent hurricanes cause a mass movement of people from their homes drastically decreasing the stability of their lives. This is not to mention the large-scale property damage.
Another scenario is if there is a long-term drought in some area of the world. That would make it difficult or even impossible for farmers to grow crops or raise livestock. This can drastically change the price of food in those particular areas. Food shortages can become so great that those living in the areas must move elsewhere in order to seek food and water for themselves and their families.
Climate change can definitely have a huge affect on our lives, especially for those in future generations like yours. What are your thoughts on climate change? I’d love to hear them.
