Bonjour Son,
Well, it looks like we have another wonderful week ahead of us. I certainly hope that you are as excited about the week ahead as I am!
I read an interesting quote today that I want to share with you:
“To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.” – Anonymous
The quote has a strong message. After all, none of us wants to be wrong, but since no one is perfect, it’s obvious that we are going to think something wrong, say something wrong, or do something wrong at one time or another. Since we all make mistakes, the smart thing to do is to learn from them. It has been said that those who don’t learn from their mistakes are doomed to repeat them.
If we stop and think about it, it’s not necessarily the fear of being wrong that concerns us. It is more the fear of the consequences of being wrong that concerns us most. For instance, some people may have a fear of joining in an interesting group discussion about a complex subject. They may be very interested in the subject matter, yet they still find themselves reluctant to join in the conversation. They could be concerned that they are not knowledgeable enough about the subject matter and fear that if they speak up, they will be perceived as naïve or foolish or not very smart.
It’s very easy for our fear of being wrong to cause us to miss out on all the richness that life has to offer. If we put aside our fears and accept the challenges that are put before us, we stand a much better chance of living a vibrant happy life rather than a life filled with regrets.
Well, that’s all for now!
Have an amazing day!
Love,
Dad
