I hope that you had a great weekend and that you will have an excellent week ahead!
Our weekend was busier than usual with an all-day-long wedding celebration as well as a dual-birthday celebration.
When those types of weekends come up, I already know in advance that I will most likely eat and drink more than I do during the week. This is especially true if there are desserts around that I normally wouldn’t eat, like the extremely decadent triple chocolate cake and ice cream that I thoroughly enjoyed!
When events such as those come up, some people complain about going. People may have any number of reasons for complaining about going or simply not going at all. I tell them that another person’s wedding or birthday celebration or even someone else’s funeral are simply not about the complaining party. They are about our opportunity to support the friends and family of those who invited us.
With all that said, that doesn’t mean that I jump up and down with joy when I am sent funeral arrangement information from a friend or family member. I simply go out of respect and the desire to support and be of service to them and their family.
So the next time you are given an opportunity to be of service in such a capacity as we’ve just discussed, do so with love and enthusiasm.
