Good Morning Son,
I had another wonderful weekend here and I hope that you had a great weekend too. Everyone here sends their love and wanted to let you know that you are always in our prayers.
Last week I spoke of sharing some motivational and inspirational quotes with you. Here is one of my favorites:
“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.”
– Robert Louis Stevenson
It’s pretty typical for us to judge our days by what we have done on that day. It is also pretty easy to get discouraged if we don’t feel that we have accomplished much on that day.
For instance, let’s say that you have a homework assignment to write a report on global warming. You may decide that your first step should be to research the topic of global warming to gather good information for your report. The research could take hours, days, or weeks, depending on how detailed your report will be.
If you judge each day by the fact that the report isn’t finished, you could have a string of pretty disappointing days. If you judge each day by the research, you have done, you can be pleased that each day you are getting closer to your goal.
In the above example the report is the “harvest” and the research is the “seed you plant”. While we may not be able to reap a harvest each day, we can certainly plant seeds for future harvests each day. The preparations you make to complete a task form the foundation for a job well done.
Well, that’s it for now.
Have an amazing day!
Love,
Dad
