It’s another wonderful Monday with another amazing week ahead of us. I absolutely love Mondays! The first day of the week is the perfect way to set the tone for the rest of your week. Make your Monday great and the rest of the week will follow!
Have you looked at much of the news lately? If you have, you can see that there is a lot going on in the world. In fact, there is so much going on in the world that it can become overwhelming just trying to keep up with current events.
From natural disasters to political scandals the news typically brings us face to face with the most negative topics of the day. It’s no wonder that some people get depressed after watching the news.
Fortunately for us the reality of the news is not the reality of life. You see, negativity sells and the news, whether we want to believe it or not is a business. Let me put it another way. What sticks in peoples minds more, their problems or their blessings? I would venture to say that for the most part, our problems can easily take center stage in our minds during our day. Perhaps with the news, the turmoil we see today will keep us coming back to see more turmoil day after day.
It could be that the news shows us people enduring terrible hardships so that we can compare the lives of others with our own and feel better about ourselves. Is that what keeps people tuning in from day to day? I don’t have the answer to that, but it is something interesting to think about.
