My Letters To My Son

How Are You Today Son

How Are You Today Son,

I was just thinking about something important that I wanted to share with you.

Grudges Cause Pain –

I’ve been guilty of holding a grudge on more than one occasion in my life. Holding grudges is no way to go through life. It is understandable that when someone wrongs you that you will be hurt in some form or fashion by that wrong. Actually, grudges are very logical because in some way they acknowledge and remind us that a certain person or persons did us wrong. As we don’t want to be wronged by this person again, a grudge forms a barrier between us and them.

I once heard someone say that they could hold a grudge forever. It’s sad because this person was actually delusional enough to be proud of being able to hold a grudge forever. Holding a grudge is not nor will it ever be a sign of strength, because it is truly a sign of weakness. Forgiveness is a sign of strength!

Now, I’m no expert in the forgiveness department, but I am happy to say that I am better at it than I used to be.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
