How are things there today? Naturally, I hope that all is well, not only with you, but the people you care about as well.
I was thinking about forgiveness today among other things. I was also thinking about that group of people who seem to bring up God in certain conversations, but are not at all attempting to live a Godly life.
People such as those mentioned above will typically speak of God to others who believe in God to give themselves some sort of credibility. Sometimes it is used to disarm believers and convince them that they are dealing with an honest and trustworthy person… a member of their group.
Unfortunately, as the saying goes, “all that glitters is not gold”. I bring this up because I don’t want you to fall prey to these types of people.
People who truly care about you will tell you the truth, the good, the bad, and the ugly truth. People who truly care about you will from time to time say things that you don’t want to hear, but that are true. People who want to manipulate you work to seem like they are on your side. It’s easy to fall prey to shifting your loyalty from someone who levels with you to someone who works to agree with everything you say. After all, hanging out with someone who makes you “feel good” can be addicting.
