I was thinking about today’s culture. I was also thinking about today’s culture and social media.
Social media can be good, bad, or indifferent. In fact, it isn’t the platform that social media provides that is bad, but how some people use it leaves much to be desired.
There are things that people will say on a social platform that they would never say to your face. It seems that some people enjoy slinging insults every chance they get. Perhaps they believe that putting someone down actually lifts them up. In reality, it doesn’t, even though it may make them feel as if they have just exercised some measure of control over someone else.
I would venture to say that if insulting someone makes us feel better about ourselves, then we have some serious internal work and reflection to do.
