Hello Son,
Good morning to you! I found another cool quote that I just had to share with you:
“There is nothing impossible to they who will try.” – Alexander the Great
Although this quote is short and not necessarily grammatically correct in today’s terms, it is very impactful. That quote inspired me to create a simple follow-up quote of my own:
“You have to keep trying to keep your dreams from dying” – Dad
The above quote certainly makes sense, doesn’t it? After all, if we don’t keep trying how can we possibly hope to obtain our dreams?
If progress is the key to happiness and effort is the key to progress, then it stands to reason that putting forth effort is the key to happiness. We can always wish that great things will happen and that we will become who we truly want to be. That may actually work from time to time, but certainly not with any consistency. If I’m not mistaken, wishing that something will happen without putting forth any effort is called luck.
If we put forth the effort to achieve a goal, we may not achieve that goal immediately. In fact, we could venture to say that rarely is any magnificent goal achieved immediately. “Trying” does not necessarily mean a one-off attempt to do something. Merriam-Webster defines “try” – “make an attempt or effort to do something”, whereas the definition of, “effort” is – “a vigorous or determined attempt.”.
What Alexander the Great meant was to try and keep on trying if you are to achieve what some might consider impossible. After all, how could you determine whether something is impossible without trying?
Well, that’s all for now!
Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Dad
