Buenos Días Son,
How’s it going there today? I hope that you had a good weekend and that you are ready for a great week ahead!
I was just thinking about how easy it can be to focus on the negative rather than the positive. While I’d like to tell you that I always focus on the positive, that would not be true. From time to time, I might find myself in some unempowered state and let negative thoughts creep in.
It’s easy for negative thoughts to creep in when things are not going as planned. Sometimes, when we don’t feel we are moving forward in life or don’t feel like we are moving forward fast enough, we may attempt to shift the focus on all the external factors that we may somehow blame for holding us back.
While it is true that some people may intentionally try to diminish your progress, ultimately it is up to the individual to overcome that challenge and get back on track.
We must stay “focused forward” on what we want to accomplish and how we want to accomplish it. If we revert to focusing on past painful experiences, it’s easy to blame others for our failure to accomplish our goals.
Actually, blaming others for our lack of accomplishment can easily be a self-fulfilling prophecy. It we focus on blaming someone we think has wronged us. Our time, energy, and emotions become so invested in resenting that person, that in fact, we have allowed our focus on that person to keep us from being focused forward.
If you blame others for your challenges, you are essentially handing someone else the steering wheel to the vehicle that transports you to your destiny. Don’t do that! Take personal responsibility for all of your actions, good and bad, and personally do all in your power to correct your bad actions and do the best for all concerned.
Well, that’s all for now!
Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Dad
