Howdy Son,
Are you ready for another wonderful week ahead? I’m sure that you are and that you will excel in every single thing that you do!
Let’s continue with our discussion of the quote, “You can’t manage what you don’t measure” – Unknown Author.
As I was saying last week, I have been in the same boat as many other people who were trying to shed a few extra pounds and get in better shape. My belief was, that if I simply exercise more and more, that I would achieve the desired results. Little did I know, that if I continued to eat the same amount of food, that the amount of exercise I have to do would be monumental!
After doing a bit of research, I decided that the best course of action was to determine exactly how much less I should eat and how much I should exercise in order to lose weight. In other words, I would measure my food consumption and exercise and track my results from there.
At this point, I feel the need to make a long story that could have many additional details, just a bit shorter. Once I started to measure and keep track of my exercise and food consumption, I lost weight faster than I had ever imagined. Now when I step on the scale, I am measuring my weight to know exactly where I stand. I manage my weight by adjusting my food intake based upon what the scale tells me.
In my weight loss example, as with many other things in life, measuring leads to managing which ultimately leads to progress/growth. In whatever endeavor you choose to excel in, find a way to measure your progress in order to manage your progress.
Well, that’s all for now!
Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Dad
