My Letters To My Son

Dad

Good Morning Son

Good Morning Son,

A super-groovy, good morning to you!

My day started out with me feeling sluggish when I woke up this morning. I’m not sure what that was all about as I felt I had a really good night of sleep. I thought to myself that maybe it was just one of those mornings where I wasn’t feeling particularly energized.

At first I thought that perhaps there was some task or number of tasks that I wasn’t looking forward to doing today for whatever reason. Then I thought, if that really is the reason, then that really wasn’t much to look forward to. If you stop and think about it, there may be tasks that you don’t look forward to doing every single day. Does that mean that you wake up sluggish and un-anxious to embrace the day before you?

As it turns out, there was a flaw in my thinking. I made the mistake of dreading some task that were necessary because I imagined them to be far more tedious than they would most likely be. As a result, I felt overwhelmed and more ready to go back to sleep than to leap forward and embrace the day.

Fortunately, I changed my state of mind and decided to simply focus on doing a great job of one task at a time, rather than imagining the insurmountable mountain of tasks that lie before me today. The result… Problem solved! Not only are the tasks being completed, but they are being completed with joy and excellence. I’m now feeling extra energized and can’t wait to get to the next task. All in all, a simple change in the way you are thinking can transform you from being low energy and low motivation to high-energy and ready to tackle anything that’s put before you!

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
