My Letters To My Son

Dad

How Are You Today Son

March 3, 2025 By Dad

How Are You Today Son,

The week has already started off great and I hope that yours has too!

I had an opportunity to read about someone dealing with an unreasonable person recently. Here’s what happened. A person sold an item to a buyer on Ebay. The buyer wanted to get his money back because he complained to Ebay that the item didn’t work.

Interestingly enough, the seller advertised the item as, “For parts/Not Working.” When I see an item advertised in that fashion, I certainly wouldn’t expect it to work. The seller contacted the buyer to find out what the buyer expected the item to do. The buyer replied that he expected it to work. Now to you and I that doesn’t make any sense at all.

The seller then asked the buyer if he had read the full description. Unfortunately, the buyer never answered the question. Now we could easily assume that the buyer really didn’t read the description as the description was clear. It seems the buyer didn’t read the item description and didn’t want to admit it. Sadly, this is the stance that some people take…to not take personal responsibility for their actions.

Now to make the story even more interesting, the buyer left negative feedback for the honest seller! This is another reason that feedback, especially negative feedback, can’t always be trusted.

So, the buyer was at fault and decided the right course of action was to blame the seller. Perhaps the buyer felt stupid for ordering something he did not want and wanted to place the blame on the seller.

No one is saying that taking personal responsibility for your actions is always easy, but truthfully, that’s not even the point. Taking personal responsibility takes courage and being truthful and courageous doesn’t have to be easy because it is the right thing to do.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
