My Letters To My Son

Great Morning Son

November 22, 2021 By Dad

Great Morning Son,

Here we are at the start of another amazing week ahead!

I would tell you that I have a busy day ahead, but as we all know, busy doesn’t necessarily mean productive. It’s pretty easy to shuffle papers around all day and still not accomplish much. Based on my personal experience, I know this all too well.

You know, it’s so easy to get distracted, especially in the age of social media. A person could spend hours and hours surfing FaceBook, Twitter, InstaGram, etc. It’s easy for that to become addictive for sure. I personally, don’t spend much time on social media, but there are plenty of other activities that can take up a lot of time. For instance, checking and rechecking your email can be very addictive. This is an easy habit to get into, especially if you are running a business.

Typically, my most productive days are the days that I have already created a plan for that day ahead of time. Here are a few quotes about planning that I found interesting:

“Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.” – Paul J. Meyer

Sometimes focused effort can be hard to come by. When you can stay focused, your productivity will skyrocket.

“Planning is bringing the future into the present so that you can do something about it now.” – Alan Lakein

If we think about this quote, we can actually predict the future. That may sound ridiculous to some, but in a way, it makes perfect sense. For instance, if we plan ahead and stay focused on making the next day productive, we increase our odds of having a accurate prediction of a positive tomorrow.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
