Top Of The Morning To You Son,
I know that I sometimes (maybe more frequently than I would like to admit) sound like a broken record. When I say that this day is the start of an amazing week, I always mean it. Looking forward to the week ahead makes perfect sense to me. Why? Because dreading the week ahead is only going to make that week more tedious than it needs be.
This week we are continuing our discussion on apologies and apologizing.
Last week we stated that, “People who can admit they are wrong are basically saying that they are infallible, which, of course, complete nonsense!”. Of course, that is complete nonsense.
You see, people who can never admit they are wrong can never learn from their mistakes. After all, how in the world can someone learn from their mistakes if they are unwilling to admit they made them.
We could go on and on about this topic as we all know people who refuse to admit their mistakes. Exercise caution when dealing with these people. They may make a mistake and not tell anyone. In many scenarios that can have disastrous consequences.
Any coward can make mistakes and refuse to admit that they made them. Only courageous people have the backbone to be held accountable for their actions. The bottom line is that apologizing is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength.
Admitting that you made a mistake and offering a sincere apology for that mistake takes strength, self-confidence, and strong self esteem.
Well, that’s all for now!
Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Dad
